I bought this for my wife to support the cleaning of wells, etc. It allows you to do is more efficient because they do not have the power in their hands, wrist and arm to work easier. She loves and saves time during cleaning.

Everyone I know advised me always a roller mower. I was told that they are not well cut, and they work hard. But I did not want a petrol lawnmower one option (usually too expensive, hard, difficult and dangerous), an electric cord would be too burdensome, and a rechargeable, it would be impractical, because it does not calculate an appropriate place for me to to do. So I took the plunge and bought it.

I'm totally intimidated by all things mechanical, so I was worried about the assembly of this mower but it is really easy. All you have to do is screw the five parts of the process together, then attach to the mower body. The instructions were adequate (3, 5-star) for a combination-phobe like me. The current configuration requires no tools for assembly, but it was an add-on bag and nuts that are mounted with my mower, it is recommended that a firm grip. If you want new bolts in place of the original wing nuts, you need a key.

After just fifteen minutes or so, I was active. To my delight, the mower moves easily, even through the high grass. And it's fun to watch the grass and quickly switched. I felt like Edward Scissorhands. Who would have thought of mowing the lawn would be so funny? I was a little tired and awkward when I finished (almost in a good way), but I went with this thing because I enjoyed it so much. I always looked at individual patches back, but unfortunately, like the mower a good job when I was ready, had my garden looked like a golf course.

A few facts about to see me and my lawn as my full recommendation will apply to you: I'm female, plus-sized, completely out of shape, and usually quite sedentary (one reason why I thought this would be too good an idea). I had never mowed grass before in my life (not worked on a yard for the summer, and then I have the services of a fine neighborhood girl took a lawnmower, the cheap). My garden is about 6500 square meters, level, even with very thin and long needles all over the place (note the mower).

Some older posts address some issues that are no longer subject: Scotts now (end April 2007) packages the mower with the padded handle at all, seemingly relaxed and easy wing nuts (as already mentioned ) can now set version with plain nuts (not in the current handbook, but with the box note). Scott must be included with the new shorter bolts nuts (as you now do not need the extra length of the wing nuts are needed), but that's a trivial point. Put your nuts on the wing after the new mother for a "finished" look.

A reel mower might not be suitable for everyone and every garden, but for me it is fantastic. It is quiet, easy to maneuver, without intimidation, good exercise, fun, environmentally friendly and cheap. I could not be happier with this mower.

I guess I should have known better after reading some of the reviews here. . . There is nothing wrong with this mower, it's just that I am the wrong man to possess.

Reel mowers work best when they remove only a small part of the grass blade at a time.
The scrubber is relatively slow, so it takes a long time to clean old stains in the bath. I was hoping for something more like a drill with adapter buff.

I own a John Deere quarter May 22 horsepower driven "gas (4-stroke), self-mulching mower. I think that retail for about $ 600-700 a decade ago. It is very well done, but it needs annual maintenance must be cleaned, and clogs for the grass is damp or too big.
I'm not sure what to look at reel mowers on Amazon. Maybe it was like to know how my gas powered lawn mowers John Deere Transportation Services wanted for this year. Maybe it was my surprise when I saw that I had to buy gas twice in one season this year. After tuning the carburetor almost every week this season? breathing unfiltered exhaust?
reason Either way, I found this mower on Amazon and was the idea of a clean, quiet mower. fascinated by the fact that his innovative approach might be better for my lawn was just a bonus. no gas or tune-ups? even better .
reviews on Amazon are encouraging, but I'm much more than research. I looked at the Brill luxury, but it has a maximum cutting height of 1 8. I do not know about you, but my lawn is definitely not a golf course. This Scotts mower is the only one with a maximum of 3 "cutting height, and I use it about 5 seconds.
Price: Amazon has the best deal I found especially with free shipping. Other sites charge $ 180 and up, plus shipping.
Study: Amazon asks people not to enter URLs, but a quick Google for "Scotts Classic reel all the pages I used in my research to show.
Assembly: It sounds crazy, but it would help in any case more than one teaspoon of dishwashing liquid in the foam mat, move to pour on the handle. Try to spread into the interior of the foam as much as possible. You can Wipe off excess after installation. Other than that, the installation is a breeze. (A 30-minute snap.)
First impressions: My 8-year-old son mowed the grass for the first time. The grass was probably 5 inches long and a bit damp, but this mower went right through them. There were some points which have a passport, but that's because the grass was too long.
Leaves: The second weekend, the leaves began to fall. I experimented and found that this role can white birch leaves that are small enough that the mower throws them out the way to go with a reaper. However, my 5-year-old son and I had to rake the leaves larger (eg maple).
Now that leaves have started falling in earnest, I'm just disconnect the gas mower will mulch them, instead of telling. But I'm happy to do a final pass with the role, and of course I can not wait until spring.
Simple. Still. Cheap. It just works.

I thought I was with my reel mower eagerly spent much time with the investigation, if I or not. The guests were very helpful. In short, I am glad I bought it.
Pros:
a Safer: no flying rocks and other projectiles, your kids will not sneak up on you and become entangled in the ends of the leaf, like a gas mower. As a physician, ED, this is a very important point that I do not think, had already said.
2 Light: My neighbors are thankful, because my ears are third
No smoke, no gas fumes
quarter Easier to use than gasoline mowers, easier to get into crevices easier and safer
; 5 Better for the environment, save on gas, oil.
6 Easy start-up, I'm more of the grass with this mower cut
7. Does not take more than mowing grass, compared with a gas mower (and if your gas mower is picky, will be easier via modem) to be.
Negative: 1
This is a bit more elbow grease with thick grass, especially on the hills. Not much but a little more (but good exercise). 2
High grass / weeds will not be easily cut with this, slightly larger than 6-8 cm is not likely to jump back in time to the cutting blades
March 1920 "swath cut a bit narrower than the average petrol lawnmowers, so you are still a few steps. On flat land, there is no problem.
I'm happy with this mower and it keeps, is seen. build quality is decent, not winning the price and shipping. Do not you try the $ 200 + models reel mower, so I can not comment.
If you have a smaller (<0 5 ha), relatively flat garden, what are you waiting for? If you think the lawn mowing as a practice and how a little bigger garden, this may be good for you. Finally, if you have children and that safety is a concern (yes, she Volvo all-wheel-drive owners out there ), a reel mower is the way to go.
